The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid

reluctant-fundamentalistThe Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid (10): This is an unnerving piece of fiction, set in Pakistan where an American tourist meets one of the locals, who seeks to reassure him that he means no ill-will towards the US. The narrator has lived in America, and lived the American Dream so he has no reason to get involved with terrorists and will protect the tourist from any harm. It’s rivetting reading and the book deserved its nomination for the Booker shortlist.
