  1. Well, I hope that Book.ish expand their provision to standalone e-readers that are not connected to the internet. I asked if they supported my i-River Story (they don’t) and they have a workaround only for Kindle. I was disappointed that Readings went for this platform.

    • Janine, I think we will see a rationalisation of platforms and file types over the next couple of years – it’s like VHS v Beta for videos, and then along came DVDs anyway. In the meantime early adopters are going to find that some things will be incompatible, and yes, that’s annoying.
      I just hope that Australian businesses choosing platforms and file types don’t isolate us from the rest of the world with peculiar versions that prevent iinternational buyers from buying local books.
