KevinfromCanada on the airwaves! – Reading Matters.

As readers here know, Kevin from Canada is one of my favourite bloggers – and here he is in conversation on Radio CBC in Canada.  Thanks to Kim at Reading Matters for the link.

  1. Thanks for this, Lisa. I was wondering this morning why three Australians had signed up as “followers” already today — now I know why. Also on the Antipodean front, I got to meet John Marsden last week — he was doing an event at the high school Read, Write, Review! event that the KfC blog sponsored. What an exceptional writer and person he is.

    • Hello Kevin, it is so nice to read your words today and to know what your voice sounds like!
She was a very good interviewer, and you’re a ‘natural’ on air. It was lovely to hear you speak out for all of us the blogging world (and thank you very much for the mention, I was astonished to to be included in the roll call *blush*) – I loved your funny story of how you began by accident!
John Marsden is indeed exceptional. His series ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began’ is the best example of YA literature that I know, and he is a visionary teacher. On my professional (LisaHillSchoolStuff) blog, the banner tag line is a quotation from Tomlinson ‘ If students can’t learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn’. For me that’s an ambition that I aspire to, but Marsden has put it into practice with his own school.
