Thanks for this, Lisa. I was wondering this morning why three Australians had signed up as “followers” already today — now I know why. Also on the Antipodean front, I got to meet John Marsden last week — he was doing an event at the high school Read, Write, Review! event that the KfC blog sponsored. What an exceptional writer and person he is.

Hello Kevin, it is so nice to read your words today and to know what your voice sounds like!
She was a very good interviewer, and you’re a ‘natural’ on air. It was lovely to hear you speak out for all of us the blogging world (and thank you very much for the mention, I was astonished to to be included in the roll call *blush*) – I loved your funny story of how you began by accident!
John Marsden is indeed exceptional. His series ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began’ is the best example of YA literature that I know, and he is a visionary teacher. On my professional (LisaHillSchoolStuff) blog, the banner tag line is a quotation from Tomlinson ‘ If students can’t learn the way we teach, we must teach the way they learn’. For me that’s an ambition that I aspire to, but Marsden has put it into practice with his own school.
