I can’t keep up! It seems as if the awards shortlists are coming from everywhere!
Thanks to my good friend Sue at Whispering Gums I’ve learned that a writer I really admire has been shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing. Yes, Glissando – A Melodrama, a book which has not had the attention it deserves, has been shortlisted for this award. I haven’t had time to read all the others that have been nominated, but Musgrave is definitely an author to keep an eye on…
The shortlisted authors are
- Stephen Daisley – Traitor
- Ashley Hay – The Body in the Clouds
- Lisa Lang – Utopian Man, on my TBR
- David Musgrave – Glissando – A Melodrama, see my review
- Kristel Thornell – Night Street, see my review
- Gretchen Shirm – Having Cried Wolf, see Sue’s review
The winner will be announced on Monday 16 May 2011
