So glad to see Gail Jones’ book on this list. I was so disappointed that it wasn’t named on the Booker longlist yesterday. I reviewed the book recently and found it an amazingly thought-provoking read, with a serious nod to James Joyce’s Dubliners. A very literary, but completely accessible, book.

I need to hunt out these others that I haven’t read. That’s the good thing about these shortlists!
