Barbara Jefferis Award shortlist 2012

Update 23 May 2012:
All That I Am by Anna Funder was announced as the winner of the Barbara Jefferis Award today.

Appropriately, on International Women’s Day, the 2012 shortlist for the Barbara Jefferis Award has been announced.  It’s an award for books which portray women in a positive light.

Too Close to Home (Georgia Blain, Vintage)
When We Have Wings (Claire Corbett, A&U)
All That I Am (Anna Funder, Hamish Hamilton) (See my review)
Five Bells (Gail Jones, Vintage)
Foal’s Bread  (Gillian Mears, A&U) (See my review)
Cold Light (Frank Moorhouse, Vintage).

The following titles were highly commended:
