Prize news this week includes the news that Sam Carmody’s The Windy Season (see my review) has won the Readings Prize for 2017 from a shortlist which included:
- Australia Day by Melanie Cheng,
- The Lost Pages by Marija Peričić (see my review)
- From the Wreck by Jane Rawson, (see my review)
- Jean Harley Was Here by Heather Taylor Johnson and
- The Good People by Hannah Kent.

And (thanks to a heads-up from Bookseller and Publisher), there’s also news of the Voss Literary prize shortlist, and I’ve read and liked nearly all of the titles – and am relieved I’m not a judge who has to choose between them!
