I’m sorry, I’m going to have to take a short break. I’m typing this one-handed because I’ve broken my RH wrist. I tripped on some uneven pavement when walking Amber and fell. I’ve hurt my left hand too and both knees so I was lucky I didn’t do more serious damage.
When I’m off the strong painkillers I’m going to see how much I can do with voice recognition on my desktop but for now, I’m best off in bed with a book.
So apologies for not responding to comments, I will be reading them on my phone but it’s too hard to do more than that.
Thanks to everyone who sent good wishes via FB and Twitter.
This is so terrible, Lisa. I send you my very best wishes for swift healing. Rest, recovery, and warm cosy reading of many, many lovely books.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I sent an email but will repeat good wishes here just in case. Very important to give wrist time to heal and not rush to resume work. If only you had a secretary – an old-fashioned type with a dictaphone. Could you make audio files for such a person? But then, maybe just a bit of time out to recuperate. We all send our best wishes. Roxie wondered if Amber was at all useful at your time of need.

Oh thats awful. I fell on Thursday on wet paving at Southbank and have badly hurt my knee which is very swollen and bruised. I am sorry your fall resulted in worse injuries. May you be pain free and quickly on the way to recovery. May you discover some wonderful new books in the meantime.

Very sorry to hear of your misfortune,
I hope you recover quickly with the minimum of discomfort and pain.
Time to get The Spouse activated into nurse mode, as I am sure he is!
Like all of your followers and fans, I will feel your on-line absence all the more keenly due to the pleasure and interest it has given to many of us during this grey COVID days.
Look after yourself and rest well.
Best wishes
Chris

Hi Lisa, I just saw this on Twitter. Hope you’re OK and the pain isn’t too bad. I broke a finger once and it was excruciating; I can only imagine that a wrist is a lot worse! Don’t rush trying to use your hand again… it will take time to heal… and we will still be here when you get back to blogging. I guess the upside is you have plenty of books in your house to read, assuming, of course, that the pain isn’t too distracting.

Dear Lisa – so sorry to hear this. I’ve only ever broken a toe & that was so painful, I cannot imagine how a wrist must feel! I’m sure you have lots of books to get you through this – I look forward to all the reviews later on :-)

Sorry to hear Lisa. No fun at all and know how painful breaking a wrist after falling on wet laundry floor plus a collar bone and sternum a couple of years ago. Rest Rest Rest it really does work. The bonus is time for reading. Get well soon.

What rotten luck. I’m so sorry to hear this. And I’m sorry to have been late in catching up with your week’s event posts as now I’ve left a stack of comments in my wake and as much fun as it is to read comments when one is recovering they come with a reminder of how you’d like to respond but can’t. So, please ignore me and I will feel all the better for having chattered on unknowingly if I can imagine you NOT replying. :D

Actually, although it’s been lovely to see people’s kindly expressions of concern about my woes, it’s been a pleasure to have someone respond to the reviews I’ve taken so much trouble to write. So thank you!
