The Late Great Patrick White, Australian literary legends at the Wheeler Centre

I had a great time tonight after school: I went to the first of the Australian Literary Legends series at the Wheeler Centre to hear Steven Armstrong, David Marr, Kerry Walker and David Musgrave talk about Patrick White.

David Marr is the author of that huge biography, Patrick White: a Life   (on my TBR); Kerry Walker was a personal friend of White’s, and David Musgrave is the author of Glissando, which is a vastly entertaining sort of riff on Voss.  It was such a pleasure to hear him talk about the links between his book and Voss, and I am delighted to be able to report that he is working on another novel.  We had a little chat after the presentation, and I asked him very nicely not to take 12 years to write this one!
