The 2018 Reading Prize shortlist was announced today, and I’ve read four of them:)
Here are the six books in the 2018 shortlist. Links on the title are to Readings (and there is currently a special deal if you want to buy all six).
- The Town by Shaun Prescott, see my review
- Pulse Points by Jennifer Down, see the Readings blog for more info about this one, and Kate’s review at Books are My Favourite and Best
- Pink Mountain on Locust Island by Jamie Marina Lau, see the Readings blog for more info about this one
- The Fireflies of Autumn by Moreno Giovannoni, see my review
- Flames by Robbie Arnott, see my review and
- The Lucky Galah by Tracy Sorensen, see my review
The winner will be announced online in late October, and will be featured in the November issue of Readings Monthly. They will receive $3000 in prize money.
Congratulations to all the authors, editors and publishers!
Tempted to buy this special deal but then remembered I’ve got 700+ books in my TBR 🤣

So six more wouldn’t really make much difference, and you would have some really interesting books to read!

I hope Pulse Points wins (not saying that because I’ve read it but because Down writes beautifully and Our Magic Hour didn’t get the attention it deserved).
