I’m not up to writing up the sessions I’m ‘attending’ at the suddenly online version of the 2021 Yarra Valley Writers Festival. I had accommodation and tickets booked, and was cursing because I couldn’t attend in person because of my broken wrist, and lo! along comes another lockdown and the festival is cancelled and has pivoted online as it did in 2020. As my wise old mother used to say, it’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good.
If you can, do what I did and buy a weekend pass for $65 which means you can watch sessions from your own home, live and for the next week.
I planned to buy the weekend pass, but then realised I had so many commitments on the weekend that I couldn’t attend very much. There are some great looking sessions though. I hope you are enjoying them.
Such a shame.

Don’t forget you can watch the links for a week afterwards. I’m not watching everything, but I think it’s important to support small festivals like this, and their sponsors.

I agree and I nearly registered for that reason alone. Yes I know I can watch the links later but I also know that this week is busy . I had Jane Austen yesterday which I was preparing for, and now need to write up that blog; l have a committee meeting tomorrow afternoonfor which I will then need to do lhe minutes; I have the next Monday musings to write; I have a tribute to write for an international index; and so on. Somewhere in there I need to find time for Mr Gums and Tai Chi practice! I’m hoping they’ll do some of their ongoing programs they did last year.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I wish we’d have another lockdown here – at least it might stop the spiralling numbers…. Glad you can at least attend the festival virtually!

I have family in the UK so I am quite anxious about what’s happening there. I think if I were there I wouldn’t need a lockdown to make me stay home!
